A scripting hack that can steal passwords from any version of Internet Explorer versions 6-8 is leading security experts to recommend using another browser (at least) for now. Microsoft is asking users to be cautious while they work on a fix.
Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome Opera are worthy candidates. Both are distributed freely and are cross-platform.
EDIT: Patch was released today.

There is a correction in this post that needs to be clarified;
This hack only effects Internet Explorer 5 through 8, not ANY IE
There is yet another error in this post, please be advised that Google Chrome is NOT Cross platform as of yet, there is a beta for MAC, and Linux, but they are not available at this time!
